The icewatch London is a contemporary gallery like public exhibition by the famous curator Olafur Eliasson which I have extensively studied before, his work often conveys a strong message that is attempting to shape an idea. The ice watch is a collection of floating ice collected from the northern sea that comes from the Greenland ice sheets. The different icebergs are all parts of the ice sheet that took over millions of years to form, the melting of ice sheets are at a rapid rate due to global warming that has led to the increase in sea level which harms coastal communities worldwide. Although many question his projects energy cost which are obvious a point to make due to the huge maintenance required for these ice cubes to travel. However we can see that alternatively these ice cubes are able to reach a wider audience by creating a stronger image that allows the audience to explore the field of global warming in the sense of touch, sight, smell, hear the ecological change that is undergoing. His key difference to promote the idea of awareness for global awareness lies in the context of eliminating the feelings of distance and disconnect which holds us back, making us numb and passive. The artists motion for the project is to elicit the feelings of proximity, presence and relevance of narratives.
